Glykosidia
Glykosidia is a term that has been used historically and in some older literature to refer to glycosides. Glycosides are a class of compounds found in nature, particularly in plants, that consist of a sugar molecule linked to a non-sugar part, known as the aglycone or genin. The linkage between the sugar and the aglycone is typically a glycosidic bond. This bond can be either an O-glycoside, N-glycoside, S-glycoside, or C-glycoside, depending on the atom that connects the sugar to the aglycone.
These compounds play various roles in biological systems. In plants, they can function as defense mechanisms
