In typical worldbuilding discussions, glossaarides are described as small, soil- or litter-dwelling invertebrates with elongated, segmented bodies and a prominent, soft, tongue-like proboscis. This organ is imagined to be capable of extracting microscopic organisms from moist pockets in the soil.
