Glassfremstilling
Glassfremstilling, or glassmaking, is the process of creating glass, a transparent, amorphous solid material. The fundamental principle involves heating a mixture of silica-rich materials, typically sand, with fluxes and stabilizers to a molten state. The most common type of glass, soda-lime glass, comprises silica (sand), soda ash (sodium carbonate), and limestone (calcium carbonate). Silica provides the glass-forming network, soda ash lowers the melting point, and limestone improves durability and prevents water solubility.
The raw materials are carefully weighed and mixed, then fed into a furnace heated to very high
After shaping, the glass is cooled slowly in a process called annealing. This controlled cooling prevents internal
