Glasluftgräns is a Swedish term used to describe the phenomenon of a layer of warm air forming over cold water, specifically in the context of Scandinavian fishing and maritime culture.

In these regions, particularly in Norway and Sweden, a temperature inversion often occurs over cold North Sea waters during the winter months. As a result, a thin layer of air near the surface remains warmer than the air above, forming a distinct boundary layer. This phenomenon creates a "glass-like" shallow layer of air, where the temperature is higher than the surrounding environment, thus giving it the name "glasluftgräns" which translates to "ice air boundary".
