Gibsons

Gibsons is a district municipality in the Sunshine Coast region of British Columbia, Canada. Located at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast, it sits on the southern shore of Howe Sound and encompasses the historic waterfront district known as Gibsons Landing. The community is connected to the Vancouver area via Highway 101 (the Sunshine Coast Highway) and to Vancouver by the BC Ferries service from the Langdale terminal.

Founded in the late 19th century, Gibsons developed as a fishing and logging community and later grew into a regional service hub for the surrounding coastal communities. Its harbourfront became a focal point for commerce and culture, attracting residents and visitors.

Today the town relies on tourism, small businesses, and the arts. It features a waterfront downtown with shops, galleries, and eateries, and hosts community events and markets.
