Gesamtübertragung

Gesamtübertragung is a German term used especially in technical and scientific contexts to denote the total transfer of a quantity—energy, information, matter, or capital—across a boundary or through a system. It aggregates individual transfers into a single measure of the system's overall conveying ability. The word combines Gesamt (total) and Übertragung (transfer or transmission).

In engineering and physics the term may refer to the total energy or signal that moves from input to output, such as the rate of heat transfer across a surface or the data throughput of a network.
