Gazeteslav

Gazeteslav refers to a term originating from FreeIPA, a free and open-source Identity, Access, Management (IAM) system. In the context of FreeIPA, Gazeteslav is a command used for synchronization with GlueExport. The primary purpose of Gazeteslav is to fetch data from the FreeIPA database and emit that data in a CSN oriented glueset.

Gazeteslav is a glue daemon plugin in FreeIPA that bridges the functionality between IPA and Glue. It enables end-users to fetch configuration information from IPA using NSCD and the GlueExport results. The GlueExport acts like a plugin, allowing the Vorpal configuration tool to parse and format FreeIPA information in a standardized format.

Glue, in this context, refers to the Glue API, a service that provides federated information services to third-party clients. GlueExport, a component of Glue, enables plugin-based import and export of information about services, groups, and others. By applying the property value mapping provided by GlueExport, Vorpal plugins convert IPA data according to DMTF specifications.

When used with GlueExport, Gazeteslav inserts fake data into the organization tree and ensures the creation of reports. In essence, it boosts integration among IPA clients with other providers that may employ the oafd glue plugin via GS3.
