Gazdaságtan

Gazdaságtan, often translated as economics, is the social science that studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. It examines how individuals, businesses, governments, and nations make choices about allocating scarce resources. The core concept of scarcity arises because human wants and needs are virtually unlimited, while the resources available to satisfy them are finite.

The field of gazdaságtan is broadly divided into two main branches: microeconomics and macroeconomics. Microeconomics focuses on the behavior of individual economic agents, such as households and firms, and how they make decisions regarding prices, production, and consumption. It analyzes markets and how supply and demand interact. Macroeconomics, on the other hand, studies the economy as a whole, examining aggregate phenomena such as inflation, unemployment, economic growth, and national income.

Gazdaságtan employs various theoretical models and empirical methods to understand economic phenomena. Economists use data analysis, statistical techniques, and mathematical modeling to test hypotheses and forecast economic trends. The discipline seeks to explain how economies function, identify problems such as inequality and inefficiency, and propose policy solutions to improve economic well-being. Its insights are applied across a wide range of fields, influencing government policy, business strategy, and personal financial decisions.
