Gaugestationer, a term used in Nordic languages such as Swedish, refers to measurement sites equipped with instruments to monitor quantities such as water level, rainfall, and atmospheric variables. They form networks used in hydrology, meteorology, and environmental monitoring. Stations may be staffed or automated; most modern gaugestationer rely on sensors with telemetry for near-real-time data transmission.

Data collected at gaugestationer include water level and discharge, rainfall amount, snow depth, air temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and wind speed and direction. Some stations use staff gauges for manual readings, while others deploy pressure transducers, radar, or ultrasonic level sensors. Precipitation is measured with tipping-bucket or weighing rain gauges.
