GauBickelheim

Gau-Bickelheim is a municipality in the Mainz-Bingen district of Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany. It is situated near the city of Mainz. The outskirts of Gau-Bickelheim touch the Dahner Felsenland, a region of scenic volcanic rocks.

Gau-Bickelheim is a part of the Bad Kreuznach administrative region. It is divided into four boroughs: Gau-Bickelheim, Dannenheim, Dahlenheim, and Dörrenbach. As of 2020, the population of the municipality was approximately 2500 residents.

The area has various historical buildings, with some dating back to the Roman era. Of particular note is the Saint Stephen's Church, which is one that historically managed over postal operations dating back to 1110, making it one of the oldest post offices known to be in Germany.

Situated near the river Nahe and having an area of around 27.4 square kilometers, Gau-Bickelheim's terrain is characterized by mixed agricultural land and woodland. Vineyards dominate the south-facing slopes, while the north-facing slopes are largely used for arable crops.
