The GKV-Spitzenverband, short for Spitzenverband der Gesetzlichen Krankenversicherung, is the umbrella organization of Germany's statutory health insurance funds (GKV). It represents the collective interests of the statutory health insurers at the national level and coordinates the self-governance of the German statutory health insurance system under the Social Code Book V (SGB V).
