GISbryterutstyr

GISbryterutstyr refers to the switchgear used in Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems. GIS is a compact, high-voltage substation that encloses all its live parts, including circuit breakers, disconnectors, and busbars, within earthed metal enclosures filled with an insulating gas, typically sulfur hexafluoride (SF6). GISbryterutstyr, therefore, comprises the circuit breaking devices specifically designed for this type of enclosed substation.

The primary function of GISbryterutstyr is to interrupt fault currents and to isolate sections of the power system for maintenance.
