Fürths

Fürths, also known as Fürth or Fuerth, is a city located in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated in the Franconia region, approximately seven kilometers west of Nuremberg. Together with Nuremberg and Erlangen, Fürths forms part of the Nuremberg metropolitan area, one of Germany's largest conurbations.

Historically, Fürths developed from a settlement in the early Middle Ages. It gained market rights in the 14th century and city rights in the early 17th century. The city experienced significant industrial growth, particularly in the 19th century, becoming a center for manufacturing, including textiles and electrical engineering. The Adam Opel AG plant, established in 1966, was a major employer for many decades.

The city's cultural landscape includes several notable landmarks. The historic town hall, built in the late 19th century, is a prominent building. The old castle, though no longer standing in its original form, has a long history. Fürths also boasts a number of churches, such as the church of St. Michael, which dates back to the 17th century.
