Fuzûlîs

Fuzûlî, born Muḥammad bin Sulaymān, was a prominent 16th-century poet of Azerbaijani origin who wrote in Azerbaijani, Persian, and Arabic. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest lyric poets in the Ottoman Empire and a central figure in the development of classical Azerbaijani literature. His birth and death dates are debated, but he is generally believed to have lived from around 1494 to 1556.

Fuzûlî's most famous work is the Persian poem Laylā u Majnūn, a tragic romance that became a highly influential version of the classic tale. He also penned the Divan, a collection of his Turkish poems, and numerous other works in both Persian and Arabic, including religious odes and didactic poetry. His writing is characterized by its lyrical beauty, emotional depth, and sophisticated use of language. Fuzûlî's poetry explored themes of divine love, human longing, and philosophical contemplation.

His influence extended throughout the Ottoman literary tradition and beyond. Fuzûlî's masterful command of language and his profound insights into the human condition cemented his legacy as a literary giant.
