Fritigerns

Fritigerns was a prominent Gothic military leader who played a crucial role in the late 4th century. He is best known for his leadership of the Visigoths during their migration into the Roman Empire and their subsequent conflict with Roman forces. Fritigerns became a key figure in the events leading up to the Battle of Adrianople in 378 AD.

The circumstances surrounding Fritigerns rise to prominence are somewhat unclear, but he emerged as a leader of a significant faction of the Visigoths during a period of great upheaval. The Gothic tribes were fleeing pressure from the Huns and sought refuge within the borders of the Roman Empire.
