Frecciargento

Frecciargento is a brand of high-speed train service operated by Trenitalia in Italy. The name, meaning Silver Arrow, designates one of the company’s high-speed offerings on the national rail network. Introduced in 2011 as part of the Frecce family, Frecciargento trains sit between Frecciarossa (the fastest tier) and Frecciabianca (the slower high-speed tier) in Trenitalia's lineup.

Operated on major corridors across the Italian peninsula, Frecciargento services use high-speed lines where available and extend to longer routes that connect northern, central and southern cities. The services are designed to reduce travel times between large metropolitan areas and tourism destinations, though actual speeds depend on equipment and track permissions.

Rolling stock used for Frecciargento comprises Trenitalia's high-speed fleets, including Pendolino-based sets and other high-capacity trains configured for long-distance travel. Trains typically offer two classes: Standard and Executive, with reserved seating and onboard services. On longer journeys, catering is available, and many trains provide power outlets at seats; Wi-Fi may be offered on a large portion of the fleet.

The Frecciargento branding features a silver livery and the "Frecciargento" insignia, distinguishing it from Frecciarossa's red branding and Frecciabianca's blue. The service remains part of Trenitalia's Frecce brand, operating alongside Frecciarossa and Frecciabianca to provide mid- to high-speed options on Italy's modern rail network.
