Francon
Francon, historically used to refer to Franconia (Franken), is a geographic and cultural region in central Europe. In modern English usage, Franconia is the standard term, while Francon appears mainly in historical or literary contexts. The area is largely within the German state of Bavaria, with some adjacent areas in Baden-Württemberg. The name derives from the Franks, the early medieval people who settled the region.
