Frakkias

Frakkias is a fictional terrestrial planet in the Nyr star system, frequently used in spacefaring fiction and worldbuilding. It is depicted as the primary world of the Frakkias Province and a common setting for exploration, colonization, and scientific study.

Discovery and naming: First detected in 2123 by the survey vessel Helix, Frakkias was named after the colonist Frakka. In official records the world is sometimes referred to as Frakkias Prime.

Physical characteristics: Frakkias has a radius of about 1.1 Earth radii, a mass near 1.0 Earth masses, and gravity close to 1 g. It orbits a G-type primary at roughly 1.05 AU, completing a year in about 365 days. The atmosphere is nitrogen-oxygen rich (about 78% and 21%), with trace gases. Day length is near 24 hours; climate is temperate with distinct tropical and polar zones.

Geography and biosphere: The planet features temperate forests, extensive river networks, and a large inland sea known as the Sapphire Ocean. The Great Rift is a major geological feature. The biosphere includes diverse native flora and fauna, some of which have been studied in ecological and astrobiological programs.

Human presence and governance: Colonization began in the late 22nd century. Frakkias is administered as a Province within the United Colonies, with an economy based on mining, hydroponic agriculture, and scientific research. Notable facilities include Helios Station and Verdant Basin.
