Forstørrelsesorden

Forstørrelsesorden, often translated as "magnification order" or "enlargement order," is a concept that relates to the relative size of objects when viewed through optical instruments like telescopes or microscopes. It's not a formal scientific term with a precise definition but rather a descriptive way to compare how much an instrument enlarges an object's apparent size.

When discussing forstørrelsesorden, one is generally referring to a qualitative assessment of magnification. For instance, a microscope typically has a much higher forstørrelsesorden than binoculars. This means that to see very small, detailed structures, one would use a microscope, while to observe distant objects with a moderate degree of enlargement, binoculars would be more suitable.
