Formgebens is a term used in developmental biology to describe the process by which a developing embryo acquires its morphological shape through coordinated gene expression and cellular differentiation. It integrates morphogen gradients with mechanical forces, providing a theoretical framework for understanding tissue folding, branching, and organogenesis.
