Fogantatástól

Fogantatástól refers to the period of time from conception until birth. This encompasses the entire duration of pregnancy. In humans, this period typically lasts around 40 weeks, or approximately nine months, measured from the first day of the woman's last menstrual period.

The developmental process during this time is divided into several stages. The earliest stage, the embryonic period, begins immediately after fertilization and lasts for about eight weeks. During this critical phase, the basic structures of the body are formed, including organs and body systems. Following the embryonic period is the fetal period, which extends from the ninth week until birth. In this stage, the developing organism, now called a fetus, grows in size and complexity, and its organs mature and become functional.

Throughout the fogantatástól period, the developing baby is entirely dependent on the mother for nourishment and protection. This dependency is facilitated through the placenta, an organ that connects the fetus to the uterine wall and allows for the exchange of nutrients, oxygen, and waste products.
