Fluoratiske
Fluoratiske is a term that appears in some discussions of inorganic chemistry to denote a proposed class of fluorine–oxygen compounds, including oxyanions and their salts. The term is not part of formal IUPAC nomenclature, and there is no widely accepted definition or stable, observed family under this name. In principle, fluoratiske would encompass fluorine–oxygen species in which fluorine forms oxyanions in a high-oxidation-state environment, analogous to sulfates or nitrates, though the actual existence and concrete stoichiometries of such species remain uncertain.
Chemistry and properties: Because fluorine is the most electronegative element and forms strong F–O bonds, stable
Research status: At present, fluoratiske are largely theoretical or speculative, appearing mainly in discussions of fluorine–oxygen
