Flotationinstallaties, often translated as flotation plants or flotation facilities, are industrial systems designed to separate valuable minerals or materials from unwanted gangue. This separation process relies on the principle of differences in surface properties, specifically hydrophobicity. In a typical flotation process, finely ground ore is mixed with water to create a slurry. Collectors, which are chemical reagents, are then added to selectively attach to the surface of the desired mineral particles, making them hydrophobic. Frothers are also introduced to create a stable froth layer on the surface of the slurry.
