Flockningsmedlen
Flockningsmedlen, often translated as flocculants or coagulants, are substances used in water treatment and various industrial processes to aggregate suspended particles into larger masses. These larger masses, known as flocs, are easier to remove from the liquid through sedimentation or filtration. The process typically begins with the addition of a coagulant, which neutralizes the negative charges on the suspended particles, allowing them to approach each other. This is followed by the addition of a flocculant, a long-chain polymer, which bridges the destabilized particles, forming larger, visible flocs.
Commonly used coagulants include aluminum sulfate (alum), ferric chloride, and polyaluminum chloride. Flocculants are often synthetic
