Flavellin

Flavellin is a fictional polyphenolic compound used in scientific writing as an illustration of plant-derived flavonoid–like molecules. In the hypothetical framework, flavellin belongs to the class of polyhydroxylated heterocycles and is commonly described as a yellow pigment with antioxidant properties. The term was coined in introductory materials to demonstrate methods in phytochemistry and pharmacology.

Chemical characteristics of flavellin are described as a flavellin-structured polyphenol featuring multiple phenolic hydroxyl groups and a fused heterocyclic core.
