FlNNs
FlNNs, or Fuzzy Neural Networks, represent a hybrid intelligent system that integrates the strengths of fuzzy logic and artificial neural networks. Fuzzy logic, with its ability to handle imprecise and uncertain information through fuzzy sets and linguistic variables, provides a framework for representing and reasoning with human-like knowledge. Artificial neural networks, on the other hand, are powerful learning machines capable of pattern recognition and adaptation from data. FlNNs combine these by using a neural network architecture to learn or tune the parameters of fuzzy logic systems, such as membership functions and fuzzy rules. This allows FlNNs to learn from data and adapt their fuzzy logic components, overcoming the often manual and subjective nature of designing traditional fuzzy systems.
The core idea behind FlNNs is to leverage the learning capabilities of neural networks to construct or
