Fiskefinner

Fiskefinner, often translated as "fish finder" or "fish detector," is a type of electronic sonar device used to locate fish in the water. It works by emitting sound waves, known as sonar pulses, from a transducer, typically mounted on the hull of a boat or a fishing rod. These sound waves travel through the water and bounce off objects they encounter, such as fish, underwater structures, or the seabed. The transducer then receives the returning echoes.

The fiskefinner processes these echoes and displays the information on a screen, usually in a graphical format. Modern fiskefinners can provide a variety of data, including the depth of the water, the presence and approximate size of fish, and the nature of the bottom (e.g., hard or soft).
