Feszültségminség is a Hungarian term that translates to "voltage sag" or "voltage dip" in English. It refers to a temporary reduction in the RMS voltage level on a power system. This reduction typically lasts for a short duration, ranging from half a cycle to a minute, and is characterized by a drop in voltage below a specified threshold.

Feszültségminség can be caused by a variety of events on the electrical grid. Common culprits include short circuits, the sudden starting of large loads such as induction motors, or the energization of heavy inductive or capacitive loads. Faults on transmission or distribution lines are a frequent cause, as they create a temporary low-impedance path, drawing significant current and consequently reducing voltage levels in the vicinity.
