Fernsehton is a small town in the fictional Nordmark region, notable for its long-standing association with broadcasting and media technology. The town acts as a regional service center and archive for local media production.

It sits on the northern river plain near the Silver River and is surrounded by patchwork fields and woods. The temperate climate yields moderate rainfall and distinct seasonal changes.

Fernsehton was founded in the 12th century as a trading post and market town. Its significance grew after the mid-20th century, when a regional television studio and transmitter network established operations here, fostering a cluster of radio and television-related businesses.

Its economy centers on media production, broadcasting services, and electronics assembly, complemented by agriculture in surrounding lands. The town operates a small business park and hosts a broadcasting equipment museum.

Local culture centers on media heritage. The annual Fernsehton Film and Television Festival attracts visitors from across Nordmark. The Fernsehton Museum of Broadcasting preserves equipment and archival footage.

Administratively, Fernsehton is part of a municipal district within Nordmark and is governed by a town council. Public transport connects to regional rail lines, and a main highway links to the regional capital. A dedicated airstrip existed briefly but is no longer in service.
