It is typically expressed as a dimensionless quantity, often as a percentage or a fraction of a monolayer. For instance, a surface coverage of 1.0 typically signifies that a single layer of adsorbed molecules completely covers the underlying surface.

In surface science, felületfedettség is a crucial parameter for understanding adsorption phenomena. It influences the rate of chemical reactions occurring on a surface, the catalytic activity of materials, and the physical properties of thin films.
