Felrúzását, also known as "rusting," is a chemical process that occurs when iron or its alloys, such as steel, come into contact with oxygen and moisture in the presence of air. This process is a form of corrosion and results in the formation of iron oxide, commonly known as rust. The chemical reaction involved in rusting can be represented by the following equation:

4 Fe + 3 O2 + 6 H2O → 4 Fe(OH)3

This equation shows that iron (Fe) reacts with oxygen (O2) and water (H2O) to form iron(III) oxide-hydroxide (Fe(OH)3), which is the primary component of rust. The rust typically appears as a reddish-brown flaky substance that can weaken and damage the affected metal over time.

Rusting is influenced by several factors, including the presence of moisture, temperature, and the presence of certain salts or acids.
