Fellesspråket

Fellesspråket, also known as the common language, is a standardized language used in the Faroe Islands, a self-governing archipelago in the North Atlantic. It is a form of the West Norse language, closely related to Icelandic and Old Norse. The Faroese language has its own unique orthography and grammar, distinct from other Scandinavian languages.

Efforts are ongoing to preserve and promote the language, including initiatives to digitize Faroese literature and media, and to integrate the language into modern technology and communication systems.
