Fellenbergs
Fellenbergs refers to a group of educational institutions founded by Philipp Emanuel Fellenberg (1771-1844) in Hofwyl, Switzerland. Fellenberg was a Swiss educator and pedagogue who developed a system of education that emphasized practical skills, manual labor, and character development alongside intellectual instruction. His primary goal was to provide a comprehensive education for children from all social classes, particularly those from less privileged backgrounds, aiming to improve their societal standing and foster responsible citizenship.
The Hofwyl institutions were established in the early 19th century and included a school for the poor
