Federált

Federált, often written föderált in correct Hungarian orthography, is an adjective used to describe something that belongs to, or operates within, a federation. It is the past participle of the verb federálni (to federate) and is used across contexts to indicate a relationship of shared sovereignty or cooperative organization among multiple entities.

In political science and constitutional law, a federált állam or föderált állam refers to a state that is part of a federation, in which constituent regions retain a degree of autonomy while overall sovereignty is shared with the central federal authority. This contrasts with unitary or centralized systems.

In information technology, the term appears in phrases such as federált identitás (federated identity), where authentication is managed across multiple domains by trusted identity providers; and federált keresés (federated search), where a query is propagated to several databases or services.

The adjective also appears in organizational and religious contexts, describing networks or bodies formed by multiple member entities that cooperate under a common framework.
