Fatick

Fatick is a town in western-central Senegal and the capital of Fatick Region. It lies on the banks of the Saloum River near the Sine-Saloum delta and sits roughly midway between Dakar and Kaolack, connected by regional roads. As the administrative center of Fatick Department, the town serves as a local commercial and service hub for surrounding rural communities.

Economy and people: The surrounding area relies on agriculture, including peanuts and cereals, as well as fishing from the river and nearby waterways.
