Farbwechsel is a German word that translates to "color change" or "color shifting" in English. It describes the phenomenon where an object or substance alters its color. This can occur due to various physical or chemical processes.

One common cause of farbwechsel is a change in temperature. Many materials exhibit thermochromism, meaning their color is dependent on their temperature. This can be seen in mood rings, which change color as body temperature fluctuates, or in certain food packaging that indicates whether a product is at the optimal temperature for consumption.
