Fallgruppen
Fallgruppen is a term used in German grammar and linguistics to refer to groups of words that share a common pattern of inflection across grammatical cases. In languages with a case system, endings change according to the role a word plays in a sentence. Fallgruppen help describe and organize these patterns by grouping words that show similar endings in the nominative, genitive, dative and accusative (and in singular and plural where relevant). The concept is intended to make the complexity of declension more manageable, both for learners and for linguistic analysis.
