Falcarius
Falcarius is a genus of theropod dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous period, known from fossils found in what is now Utah, United States. It is regarded as one of the earliest members of Therizinosauria, a group of theropods that later evolved into primarily herbivorous forms. The type and only named species is Falcarius utahensis. The name Falcarius derives from Latin falx, meaning sickle, in reference to the distinctive enlarged claw associated with therizinosaurs.
Falcarius was described in the early 2010s from fossil material recovered in the Cedar Mountain Formation
