Fachwerkstatt, literally "specialist workshop," is a dedicated facility within educational or training institutions that provides practical instruction in a specific trade or professional field. It is designed to complement classroom teaching by offering hands-on work experience and the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world tasks.

Within the German-speaking countries' vocational education systems, Fachwerkstätten are common in vocational schools (Berufsschulen), vocational training centers, and company-based apprenticeships. They cover a wide range of trades, such as metalworking, wood construction, electrical installation, automotive technology, electronics, and textile or chemical processing. The goal is to develop occupation-specific competences, problem-solving, safety awareness, and quality workmanship, culminating in validated practical assessments.

Organization typically involves qualified instructors, master craftspeople, or technicians who supervise apprentices or students. The curriculum is aligned with occupational profiles and national or regional standards.
