The Facharztprüfung is a German term referring to the specialist medical examination. It is the final examination that doctors must pass to become a recognized specialist in a particular field of medicine, such as cardiology, dermatology, or surgery. This examination is a crucial step in the postgraduate medical training pathway in Germany, following the general medical education and the initial period of practical training known as the "Weiterbildung".
