Faasikõverdaradar

Faasikõverdaradar, often shortened to FCR, is a type of radar system that utilizes phase measurements of the returned radar signal to determine the target's range and velocity. Unlike traditional pulse-Doppler radars that rely on measuring the time delay of pulses and frequency shifts, FCR focuses on the phase information contained within the returned signal. This phase information can be highly sensitive to small changes in target distance and motion.

The core principle behind FCR involves transmitting a series of pulses and analyzing the phase difference between successive returns. By comparing the phase of the received signal at different points in time, the system can infer how the target has moved. This allows for the simultaneous measurement of both range and velocity with high precision. FCR systems are known for their ability to achieve fine range resolution and detect targets with very low radial velocities that might be missed by other radar types.

FCR technology has found applications in various fields, including air traffic control, weather monitoring, and automotive radar systems. Its sensitivity to phase variations makes it particularly useful for detecting subtle movements and differentiating between closely spaced targets. While the underlying principles are complex, the outcome is a radar system capable of providing detailed information about target dynamics.
