FXRdependent refers to biological processes, pathways, or cellular functions that are regulated by the farnesoid X receptor (FXR), a nuclear receptor that plays a critical role in lipid and bile acid metabolism. FXR is a ligand-activated transcription factor belonging to the nuclear receptor superfamily, primarily expressed in the liver, intestine, kidney, and adrenal glands. It functions as a master regulator of bile acid homeostasis, influencing the expression of genes involved in bile acid synthesis, transport, and excretion.
