FELCs

FELCs stands for "Functional Electrical Limb Control." It is a type of advanced prosthetic technology that aims to restore a greater degree of natural movement to individuals with limb loss. Unlike traditional prosthetics which often rely on simple mechanical movements or basic electrical signals, FELCs utilize sophisticated sensing and control systems.

The core principle of FELCs involves integrating sensors that can detect subtle electrical signals from the remaining muscles in the residual limb. These signals, known as myoelectric signals, are then interpreted by an onboard processor within the prosthetic limb. This processor translates these signals into complex commands that control a wider range of movements, such as individual finger articulation, wrist rotation, and more nuanced joint actions.

This technology is designed to improve the intuitiveness and dexterity of prosthetic limbs, allowing users to perform tasks that were previously difficult or impossible.
