Extremeinschläge, also known as extreme impacts or hypervelocity impacts, refer to the high-energy collisions of celestial bodies like asteroids or comets with a planet or moon. These events are characterized by immense velocities, often tens of kilometers per second, which generate colossal amounts of energy upon impact. The sheer force of such an impact can excavate vast craters, eject massive amounts of material into the atmosphere and beyond, and trigger widespread geological and atmospheric changes.
