If a GRB were to occur within a few thousand light-years of Earth, it could potentially strip away the ozone layer and expose life on Earth to harmful ultraviolet radiation.

Nuclear winter is another potential extinction-level event that could be caused by a large-scale nuclear war. The detonation of thousands of nuclear weapons could inject large amounts of soot and other particles into the atmosphere, blocking out sunlight and causing a global cooling effect.

Extinction-level events are a reminder of the fragility of life on Earth and the importance of preserving biodiversity. While these events are rare, they serve as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of human activities that could have global impacts.
