Exkisionen
Exkisionen is a term primarily used in medicine, referring to the surgical removal of a body part or tissue. This process involves cutting out an abnormal growth, diseased organ, or damaged tissue. The extent of the exkision can vary greatly, from the removal of a small skin lesion to the complete resection of an organ like a tumor. The decision to perform an exkision is typically based on diagnostic imaging, biopsy results, and the patient's overall health condition. The goal is often to treat a disease, prevent its spread, or alleviate symptoms. Following an exkision, the removed tissue is usually sent to a pathology laboratory for microscopic examination to confirm the diagnosis and ensure all affected areas have been removed. Recovery time and potential complications depend on the size and location of the exkision, as well as the individual patient's response to surgery. Rehabilitation or further treatments may be recommended as part of the post-operative care plan.
