Ewangelii

Ewangelii is the Polish term used to refer to the Gospel in religious language. It is the genitive singular form of ewangelia, meaning the gospel or key message of Jesus Christ. In common usage, the word can denote the four canonical gospels collectively or the Gospel text itself, and it appears in phrases such as według Ewangelii Mateusza (according to the Gospel of Matthew) or z Ewangelii św. Marka (from the Gospel of St. Mark).

In Polish biblical and theological writing, Ewangelii is often employed to introduce quotations or summaries from the New Testament gospels. It also appears in liturgical and devotional contexts, where the Gospel is proclaimed during services from a Gospel book. The four canonical gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—are sometimes referred to collectively as Ewangelie, with Ewangelii used in construct phrases to indicate their content or source.
