Evicted
Evicted is the term used to describe the act of forcing a tenant to leave a rental property through a legal process. In housing law, eviction is the formal action by which a landlord seeks possession of a dwelling. Typically, a tenancy agreement or lease sets expectations, and authorities require a notice to quit or cure, specifying a period to remedy a breach or vacate the premises. If the tenant does not comply, the landlord may file an eviction action, often called an unlawful detainer or summary proceeding, in the appropriate court.
