Europaväg
Europaväg is the Swedish and Norwegian term for a European route. European routes are a network of roads that cross Europe, numbered by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). These routes are not toll roads and are generally well-maintained. The numbering system is designed to be logical, with even numbers generally running east-west and odd numbers north-south. Major routes often have lower numbers. Sweden and Norway are part of this network, and their roads are designated as Europaväg when they are part of a European route. For example, the E4 is a major north-south European route that runs through Sweden. Similarly, the E6 is another significant north-south route in Scandinavia. The designation Europaväg indicates that these roads are part of an international transport corridor, facilitating travel and trade across the continent. The specific numbering and signage are standardized across participating countries to ensure clarity for drivers.
