Etylenforhindrer

Etylenforhindrer, also known as ethylene blocker or ethylene inhibitor, is a chemical compound or technology used to reduce the effects of ethylene gas on plants. Ethylene is a plant hormone that plays a crucial role in various physiological processes, including ripening, senescence, and abscission (the shedding of leaves, flowers, or fruits). While ethylene is natural and essential for plant development, elevated levels or premature production can lead to undesirable outcomes such as accelerated spoilage of fruits and vegetables, wilting of flowers, and premature leaf drop.

The primary mechanism of action for many etylenforhindrere involves binding to ethylene receptors in plant cells.
